Census Bureau: 77.3% of people in Shelby County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 47,523 citizens living in Shelby County in 2021, 77.3% were old enough to vote, equating to 36,734 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 17,538 were male, constituting 47.7%, and 19,196 were female, making up 52.3%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Shelby County during 2021 was the same as the state average, which stands at 77.3%.
